Congratulations to the same-sex couples in New York who will wed beginning on July 24, 2011. We wish them happiness and lives filled with love.
Thanks to all who helped make this moment possible, from those who lobbied their legislators and contributed to the organizations who orchestrated the campaign for marriage equality to the politicians such as Speaker Christine Quinn, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and Governor Andrew Cuomo who exerted crucial leadership, as well as the four Republican senators who bucked party lines to cast votes for justice.
