Shannon Wearing is an art historian specializing in medieval and early twentieth-century European art. Her academic interests include identity formation, the role of viewership, and the art object's mediation of the divine. She earned her M.A. in art history from Hunter College, City University of New York, and is now pursuing a Ph.D. at the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University.
