John D. Waybright is a retired newspaper editor living in Luray, Virginia. He attended Madison College (now James Madison University) in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He was assistant managing editor of the Daily News-Record in Harrisonburg from 1965 to 1967, and editor of the weekly Page News and Courier in Luray from 1968 to 1997. Since his retirement, Waybright’s literary projects have included research and writing for a comprehensive biography of American artist George Quaintance.
