Susan S. Lanser is Professor of Comparative Literature and English at the University of Maryland at College Park. She is author of The Narrative Act and Fictions of Authority: Women Writers and Narrative Voice, as well as numerous essays on feminist criticism and lesbian writing. She has recently co-edited Women Critics: An Anthology.
