Hi, I'm new here, but I was just wondering if any of you knew the extimated % of the population of trans people in the United States.

I am organizing a few things for Transgender Day of Remembrance at my college and I cannot seem to find any hard stats.

I know it must be hard to come up with an accurate number, seeing as so many gender variant people are forced to remain in the closet out of fear.

I would really appreciate it is anyone could give me links to statistical resources of quote me a few numbers.

Thank you infinately,

Julie

Hi, Julie.

You might try contacting the Gender Public Advocacy Coalition (Gender PAC), on which there is an entry in the Social Sciences department of www.glbtq.com. Their web address is www.gpac.org.

Good luck in your search.
