While there have been some gains for the trans community, more needs to be done. I believe that more of us need to be out there. Basically, we fly across the grain of what society expects. Many people want to understand what we're about but there aren't enough people who are able and willing to express themselves and explain to the public what we are about.
I am a transvestite and have been out in public numerous times. Someday I would love to speak before a group and share my experiences as a crossdresser. The younger people seem to be more open to our diversity.
I have listened and shared my feelings with transsexuals, FTM''s, genderqueer, and others. There's so much creativity, gifts and talents upon us. We need to present to the public that we are productive, healthy and normal. It's just that we express ourselves differently.
