Please excuse my barging in like this; I'm writing from an independent, London-based publisher called Hesperus Press with information about a new title which I believe may be of interest to the members here.
Among our May titles is a brand new translation of Wings by Mikhail Kuzmin; this is the only available English edition of this key text in the history of homosexual literature, and was translated by Hugh Aplin (currently shortlisted for the Rossica Translation Prize), with a foreword by Paul Bailey (twice shortlisted for the Booker Prize). The first Russian novel to consider homosexuality, Wings was published in 1906 to scandalised responses, and its central theme of aestheticised sensuality has drawn comparisons with the works of Oscar Wilde and André Gide. I will insert the link to the title in our online catalogue, in case anyone would like to take a look: http://www.hesperuspress.com/catalogue/book.asp?id=226
We’re very eager to ensure that the revival of this seminal text reaches its deserved audience, so if anyone has any questions about it or would like any further information about this title or Hesperus Press more generally, please don't hesitate to contact me: enquiries AT hesperuspress DOT com.
We are distributed in the US by IPG, so this title will be available in American bookstores: no need to pay a gargantuan shipping fee.
