Congratulations to Nevada on overriding its governor's veto of a domestic partnership bill, and congratulations to New Hampshire on achieving marriage equality. I hope that soon we will be able to take equality under the law for granted, but until then each step forward to that goal needs to be celebrated.

I believe that New York is close to granting marriage equality, also. Congrats to Nevada and New Hampshire.

Kudos, indeed, to the governor and legislature of New Hampshire for bringing marriage equality to their state and to the legislators of Nevada for taking a step in the right direction with the domestic partnership bill. A tip of the hat as well to the voters who elected these fair-minded public officials. It is important for all of us to register to vote, to inform ourselves about the views of candidates, and to encourage others to do likewise.

As for New York, let us hope that those who are working for marriage equality can build a large enough coalition to get the measure through the Senate.
