As of today, gay and lesbian couples will be able to apply for marriage licenses in Mexico City. There is a short waiting period after applications are filed, but weddings are expected to begin next week.

Hey Linda,
You beat me to it. Congratulations to Mexico City. The Roman Catholic Church, the President, and the ruling national party are all trying to stop this progressive move, but so far have been unsuccessful.
