Today the Maine legislature completed work on the passage of a marriage equality bill and it was signed by Governor Baldacci. The law will go into effect in 90 days, though it is likely to be challenged by opponents who will attempt to subject it to a "people's veto" via referendum. Congratulations to Maine's legislature and governor for doing the right thing. _________________ Jay |
