I am studying for my Media A-level and am just interested in a few views on the subject, specifically on how much more does the hollywood machine need to go to represent lesbian's fairly in the future. Thankyou. Thomas.

Hi Thomas -- I think things have already changed very much for the better but of course there are still arguments over every lesbian character in popular film and TV. You can find discussions on specific films or TV shows by putting this kind of search string into google: lesbian "title of film"

I don't know if you'll find it useful because it's quite theoretical, but there's stuff on the history of lesbian representation in cinema at my site:

Good luck with your A-level.
