| Basically, I'm curious what faiths (or lack there of) are practiced by the GLBT community, as a way of showing diversity doesn't end at sexuality. Does anyone have an studies or anything like that? |

I was raised by an orthodox Christian preacher man, and haven't been able to stomach Christianity ever since I grew up. The religion I learned was exclusive, intolerant, and emotionally brutal to anyone who failed to live life as prescribed by the church. I was already leaning toward an atheist, or at least agnostic, point of view, but when my father said that as long as I was a homosexual, he was "dead to his son," I forgot the Christianity that oppressed me once and for good.
I find great peace in Zen buddhism, though I am not a regular practitioner. I attended an all-day rally with Thich Nat Hahn, the buddhist monk, but I found him a little too preachy himself. Still, Zen meditation brings peace when I need it. |

I am Wiccan but I draw inspiration from many paths, including Buddhism (especially Tibetan), Native American spirituality and the works of Matthew Fox and John Shelby Spong.
I am not aware of any studies about GLBT religious diversity, but if I find something I will report on it in the forums here. _________________ BB,
