I would like to start a discussion about totally sick, must see movies. John Waters has his famous personal list and I have seen most of them and agree with his piquant taste in film. Here are my top three, at least this week:
#1
Madamoiselle
Starring Jeanne Moreau
Directed by Tony Richardson (queer) - X-husband of Vanessa Redgrave and father of Natashia Richardson
Script written by Jean Genet !!!!!!
Jean Moreau plays a repressed school marm in a French country village whose inability to express her gnawing sexual desire for a hunky Italian seasonal worker, manifests itself in gruesomely violent and brilliantly deceitful ways. This film was booed at the Cannes Festival in the late '60's when it premiered, mostly because it exposed the propensity for mob violence and mass xenophobia by a culture or country, given a set of circumstances, whether real or imagined.
Jean Moreau is devine, as usual. Evil incarnate.
#2,3 to come... _________________ cmg
