One of my best friends, Jonathan, just told me that he is transgendered. I have never known anyone that is, and so I know nothing about it, besides what I can find for myself on the internet. I have told him that I am completely supportive of him, and will always love him, no matter what, but that doesn't solve any of my ignorance. Does anyone have any advice about how I can be supportive to him, or any good websites/books/movies that will help me to learn more about what being transgendered means? I really appreciate any help anyone can offer. Thanks

Hi, Carrie. It's wonderful that you are supportive of Jonathan. A book I recommend is 'My Husband Betty' by Helen Boyd. It's a good read and will help you understand what being transgender is. A couple of informative websites I like are listed below. Good luck to you and to Jonathan. I'll post some more information when I get it.
