I'd like to know some more about monastic orders, such as the Benedictines, Cistercians, Carthusians, Franciscans,Augustinians, Passionists, Redemptorists,etc. who follow the rule of St. Benedict. I realize that members of these orders take a vow of celibacy. Does anyone know if these orders have official positions on accepting gay people? Does anyone know of any monastic communities that accept gay members? Thanks.
