Today is the third aniversary of my coming out as a crossdresser. This year has been wonderful. I marched in the gay pride parade. I declared myself a transgender woman. I have been more vocal about issues on the internet and in public. I can't stand idly by while someone trashes us.
In the three years of being transgender, being cofortable in my own skin is most important. No matter how many laws are passed, it doesn't mean anythng if someone isn't comfortable with his/herself. I love being who I am. I am liberated and complete. I have never been happier.

Congratulations! To the best of my knowledge, the older a person is the more difficult it is to come out. I wish I could pin point whenever I discovered that I wasn't "just attracted to women", even if I do partialy identify as a lesbian still. I guess the dual identity situation is the begining of transition.

Thank you, Transdyke. For me it was easy because I wanted to tell my wife and son anyway. My siblings don't know and I probably will not tell them. It would shock them. I'm just happy the way things are now.
