I have decided to become more vocal and active about transgender issues. I'm tired of of transphobes trashing our community with innuendo and outright lies. I have responded to op-eds that have been critical of trans people. I am seeking organzations that are active in advancing transgender causes.
A year ago, I may have responded to an op-ed pages once in a while voicing my dissent. Now, I can't stand idly by while trangender people are being discriminated against, beaten, and murdered. There's been too may this year and this has to change.
I don't see myself as an activist, but now I don't have any choice. I will be involved and vocal.
