The January-February, 2009 Utne Reader has a great article about LGBT Native Americans. It includes quite a few photographs of two-spirit people at a conference that was held near Minneapolis as well as an explanation of the struggles two-spirit people face within their communities and as Native Americans.
A great read. |

I read the article and found it encouraging. I have Native_American ancestry (Choctaw) and African-American. I remember when I was a boy my mom told me about my Choctaw ancestry. I felt really proud. I plan to research more about my ancestors. I really believe my being transgender is prophecy being fulfilled.
