The New Jersey Senate defeated a bill to legalize same-sex marriage in that state by 20 to 14. Really disappointing. I am especially angry at the Democrats who voted against us; I didn't expect anything better from Republicans.
I hope that activists go back to the New Jersey Supreme Court, with the argument that the civil unions law has not worked, and therefore gay couples are still not treated equally under the law despite the Court's ruling that they must be. _________________ Jay |

The same thing happened here in New York. Kind of surprised because I thought New Jersey had a great chance of passing same-sex marriage.
