At the present time I'm reading Dante's The Divine Comedy. I write poems and some prose besides short stories, essays and commentaries. Playwriting is on my radar also. I read John Milton's Paradise Lost in college a few years back. I thought that the length of the prose was insane. Now I would love to tackle something like this.
Literature is a beautiful art and I like painting with words. So far I've read T.S. Eliot, Sylvia Plath, Edgar Allan Poe, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Langston Hughes, Henry David Thoreau, Emily DIckinson, and a number of others. I'm getting quite an education on different styles and approaches to writing. I have my own style as does every writer but the the objective is touch the lives of our readers. |
