Dear friends,
The November 2012 election marks another very important time for the LGBT community as voters will be weighing in on marriage rights for same-sex couples in your state.
We are currently conducting research to examine the experiences of same-sex couples during these election campaigns. We are recruiting same-sex couples in Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, and Washington to help with this research and hope you will consider sharing your experiences.
Participation is online and involves 3 components:
1. An intake survey with questions about you and your relationship. (approximately 15 minutes)
2. A daily "diary" which you will complete each night for 10 consecutive nights. The diary asks about your experiences that day with messages regarding the marriage campaign. (3-5 minutes each night)
3. A follow up survey, which will be completed in the days following the election, assessing your reaction to the outcome of the vote. (10 minutes)
Because we are interested in the experiences of individuals as well as couples, your partner must also agree to participate in the study. You will each be paid $20 for participation in the form of an Amazon gift card.
To determine whether you qualify for participation or to learn more about the research or the researchers, please visit:
