Sound

Marilyn: I guess when you put all the different influences from each band member together, you get our sound. Other people have referred to it as power pop, which is fine by me.

Influences

Marilyn: Honestly, my biggest influences were not queer artists, with the exception of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. When I saw the movie and the play, I clearly was inspired to be a transgender musician.

Marilyn Mitchell performs at the $pread Magazine Launch Party at the Center for Sex & Culture.
