Pilar Gallego (b. 1981), co-curator of Pink and Bent, uses drawing and sculpture to develop a visual language about genderqueer, feminist, and minority identities, issues, and communities.
Gallego, a graduate of New York's Pratt Institute, is an artist, curator, and community activist who sees her art as a community-building component of her activism. She has worked with the Leslie/Lohman Gay Art Foundation, the Sylvia Rivera Law Project, the Small Works for a Big Cause auction, and currently curates art events at That's My Jam, a monthly queer party in New York's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood.
