Fashion

French fashion designer Christian Dior (1905-1957) revitalized haute couture after World War II, creating luxurious, feminine clothes that contrasted sharply with the austere, "manly" fashions of the war period.

The well-respected designers who followed Dior at the helm of the House of Dior, including Yves St. Laurent and John Galliano, the enfant terrible of English fashion, have maintained the emphasis on luxury Christian Dior pioneered.
