Musical Artists

Rod McKuen (b. 1933) may have been the most popular poet in the United States during the 1960s and early 1970s. Though critics have savaged his poetry, McKuen's success as a songwriter is uncontested. Artists including Frank Sinatra, Dusty Springfield, Nina Simone, Madonna, and Johnny Mathis have recorded his songs and helped keep McKuen's work in the public eye.
