Many homosexuals died at the Sachsenhausen concentration camp, which has been preserved in memory of the holocaust. The entrance to the camp (top) bears the inscription "Arbeit Macht Frei." A plaque memorializing homosexuals who suffered at Sachsenhausen (above) has been placed inside the camp.
